Ty Thornton, MS LPC
Ty became fascinated with the mind and how it worked when at the age of 14 her cousin was tragically killed in a bicycle accident, and brain surgery was not successful in saving his life. She became aware that she was the person that many of her friends and family turned to for a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or some words of encouragement. She followed her heart and pursued a career in Psychology. Ty has been working in the mental health field now for 15 years. She has a wide range of experience, counseling children, adolescents and adults, as well as conducting marriage and family therapy. She has extensive training and experience in the areas of mood and personality disorders, trauma, and addiction. Ty has a keen understanding of how these, as well as other life issues impact an individual and his or her family. She is passionate about helping others and her fun personality and sense of humor assure your counseling experience will be helpful and enjoyable. Whatever the issue or situation you may be experiencing, you'll find Ty is easy to talk to.
In her time away from the counseling office, Ty enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children as well as family and friends. She is an avid runner, recently completing a half marathon. She likes most outdoor activities, watching Cardinals baseball, and music of all kinds, especially country. She values hard work, keeping commitments, and her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Ty is also very enthusiastic about cute shoes and big jewelry.
